The Albion plantation is believed to have been established in the early 19th century. While the exact date of its rum distillation initiation remains unknown, historical records indicate that the distillery ceased operations in 1968.

Similar to Skeldon and La Bonne Intention, which closed in 1960, and Blairmont, which shut down in 1962, Albion's closure was a strategic decision by the Brooker group, the owners of these distilleries, to focus solely on Uitvlugt, which had undergone modernization in 1960.

Albion distillery employed a traditional wooden column still, though its fate after closure remains a mystery. Subsequently, the distinctive Albion style was replicated at Uitvlugt using a four-column Savalle still, renowned for its versatility in producing various rum profiles through different settings.
