Enmore is a rare rum from the Demerara region. Its history, like that of all distilleries in Guyana, is complex to unravel. The Versailles distillery ceased operations in 1968, and its wooden pot still was transferred to Enmore to produce rum with the VSG mark. The VSG and REV marks are both correct. VSG was used officially at Versailles and later at Enmore, while REV likely comes from the broker, Cadenhead, meaning Rum Enmore Versailles.

When the Guyanese government nationalized the production of rum in 1974, it was one of the last distilleries still in operation, alongside Diamond and Uitvlugt. The two Wooden Coffey Stills date back to the 1880s and are based on the model invented by Aeneas Coffey in 1832. They were transferred to Uitvlugt when the distillery closed in 1994, then to Diamond when Uitvlugt closed in 2000.

This was also the case for the Enmore wooden pot still that Enmore had recovered after the distillery of the same name closed in 1978. For collectors, owning a bottle of Enmore rum is more than just an acquisition—it's an embodiment of their passion for the craft. The sight of these meticulously crafted bottles standing proudly on the shelf brings a sense of pride and fulfillment. Each bottle tells a story, carrying the heritage and tradition of the Enmore distillery within its liquid.

The Enmore distillery's legacy lives on through the discerning collectors who appreciate the artistry and history of its rums. Enmore rum bottles not only bring joy to those who own them but also delight the eyes with their exquisite design. Thanks to the interest of various bottlers, Enmore rum were able to reach enthusiasts worldwide. Notable among them are bottlers: Velier, Distilia, Silver Seal, Samaroli, and Moon Import.
