Caroni 1996 Full Proof 21 Year Old Heavy Rum. One of 105 from cask #R5542. Aged until 2008 in Trinidad before being transferred to Diamond in Guyana.

Caroni, founded in 1923 on a sugar factory site, gained fame for its ‘Heavy’ rums, a staple in British Navy rations. As the Trinidadian sugar industry declined, Caroni faced economic challenges due to imported molasses. In 2002, it closed its doors, leaving behind a treasure trove of flavor.

In 2004, Luca Gargano discovered Caroni’s hidden gem – barrels of legendary heavy rum, quietly aging. Since then, remarkable releases have delighted collectors.

Now, celebrate the 70th anniversary of Velier with a trio of hand-blown magnums, each containing aroma with a single cask rum from Caroni.
