The Paradise collection from Caroni

The initial pair of releases in the Paradise collection from Caroni are both high-proof rums, distilled in the years 1996 and 1998. These rums have an interesting history, dating back to 2004 when they were found by Luca Gargano, the head of Velier, following the shutdown of the Caroni Distillery. The rum casks range in vintage from 1974 to 2000 and remained in Trinidad until their shipment to France’s Cognac region in 2019.

The Paradise series is presented in artisanal glass bottles handcrafted by Massimo Lunardon in Italy, and adorned with art from Trinidadian artist Che Lovelace. The first two releases display the pieces “Resting Woman” and “Large Dancer,” both part of Gargano’s art collection. These art pieces draw inspiration from the lush scenery of Trinidad and Tobago and transport us to a timeless realm where humans and nature merge. The label for these releases is Caroni Paradise #1 & #2.
