Enmore 1988/2024 – 36-Year-Old Full Proof Demerara Rum
The second release in the Sketches of the Past series, this 36-year-old full proof Demerara rum was distilled in 1988 at the legendary Enmore Distillery in Guyana, home of the historic wooden Versailles still. Bottled in 2024 from a single cask at 51.8% ABV, it is uncut, unfiltered, and profoundly expressive – a deep dive into the heart of Guyanese rum heritage.
This cask is an ode to tropical aging and time itself. After maturing for more than three decades, it delivers a complexity that is rich, resinous, and unforgettable. With only 108 bottles released, this is a collector’s gem, bottled under the banner of artistic and historical reverence.
As with its Jamaican counterpart, the label features one of Wacław Rzewuski’s original 19th-century illustrations of Arabian horses – each bottle a bridge between liquid legacy and visual history.

About the Distillery
Enmore Distillery, once situated on Guyana’s East Coast, is revered for its use of the historic wooden stills – relics of the 18th and 19th centuries, including the world-famous Versailles single wooden pot still. These stills, now housed at Diamond Distillery, are unmatched in their ability to produce rums of exceptional depth and character. Enmore's legacy is intertwined with the broader story of Demerara rum: colonial estates, tropical aging, and bold, resinous profiles that reflect the region’s unique terroir and craftsmanship.
About the Collection
Sketches of the Past is a limited series of two rare rums, each bearing the spirit of Count Wacław Rzewuski - a Polish nobleman, orientalist, and explorer who journeyed across Arabia in the early 19th century. In 1817, Rzewuski was accepted as an Emir by Bedouin tribes and became the first European to traverse the heart of Najd.
His legacy lives on in a monumental manuscript filled with over 400 hand-drawn illustrations, including detailed depictions of Arabian horses. These majestic animals, celebrated for their grace and lineage, influenced equine breeding across Europe and the Middle East.
Each Sketches of the Past bottling features a different illustration from this work - timeless, expressive, and intimately tied to the spirit inside. Together, these rums offer not only a tasting experience, but a story steeped in exploration, artistry, and historical reverence.
