In 2009, the Hussey family’s Everglades Farms acquired Hampden Estate Distillery. Their initial action was to start aging casks that would become the first official Hampden Estate rum bottles, which were released in partnership with Velier in 2018. Known for its robust, ester-heavy profile, Hampden Estate stands alongside Worthy Park as one of the two Jamaican distilleries dedicated to producing pure single rums solely with pot stills. The distillery is equipped with four pot stills: two from Forsyths in Scotland, one from Vendome in Kentucky, and one from T&T Engineering in South Africa.
