The legendary Hanyu 1985 55,7% Single Malt Ace of Spades. This whisky was bottled in 2006.
The Hanyu distillery ceased production in 2000, significantly increasing the demand for its single malts in Japan. Venture Whisky, under the leadership of Ichiro Akuto, took over the remaining casks after the closure due to economic difficulties. In 2005, Ichiro’s Malt single casks were introduced. Although Akuto also established the Chichibu distillery, his crowning achievement is the Hanyu ‘Card’ series – 58 unique releases featuring playing card labels, now prized by collectors and leaving a lasting legacy in the history of Japanese whisky.
